Hi, Gang!

It’s February, so by now you’ve hopefully taken down all of your Christmas decorations.  And if you haven’t, don’t worry about it.  They’re sparkly and pretty and the neighbors have no reason to complain.

February may be the shortest month, but that doesn’t keep it from being very, very busy.

• President’s Day is in February.
• Lunar New Year is in February.
• Groundhog Day is in February.
• And there’s another holiday in February that’s very important.  I just wish I could remember it.

What is that day in February I’m trying to remember?

It’s somewhere in the middle of the month.  People celebrate it all over the world.  I just wish I could remember it.

I know I forgot it last year, and then I got into big trouble with my wife because…

Valentine’s Day!  That’s it!

Valentine’s Day is on February 14^th, and that day is coming fast, so you better start making your valentines now.

Don’t forget about your pets!  They need to know you love them also.  So make them a valentine, too.  Just don’t give your pets any Valentine’s Day chocolate.  Chocolate will make them sick!

This reminds me… it’s time for this month’s story writing exercise.

BAD KITTY’S VALENTINE’S DAY

Write a story about what would happen to Kitty on Valentine’s Day.  Here are some questions you could ask yourself to get you started…

• Would Kitty make a valentine for someone?  If so, who?  What would it look like?
• Would Puppy make a valentine for Kitty?  If so, would she like it?
• Would anyone make a valentine for Uncle Murray?
