When we heard that Bad Kitty creator Nick Bruel and Little Elliot, Big City author Mike Curato would be competing in a drawing competition, we couldn’t wait to grab a front row seat! These two awesome author/illustrators accepted the same challenge: they had two minutes to draw as many items as possible that all began with the same letter. The result was hilarious and creative, as we expect from both of them
The great part about the draw off is it is extremely simple to stage at home! Here’s how to do it.
Each competitor needs a piece of paper and a pencil or marker. Pick a random letter from the alphabet and give them 10 seconds to think before they start to draw. Set a timer for one minute. Each player should draw as many items beginning with that letter as they can in the allotted time! When the minute is up, count how many items each person got. You can extend the fun by having each artist describe the scene!
