Vote for Bad Kitty ! A Note from Nick Bruel

heading

Ah, November.

In like a lion, out like an even bigger lion.

Any traces that the Summer of 2014 ever existed should be gone by now.  Fall is here, and Winter is just peeking around the corner.

Unless, of course, you live in Hawaii or Florida or sunny Southern California, in which case you and I have absolutely nothing in common because my feet are already cold and the squirrels outside my window are starting to look a little desperate.

But there is one thing we do have in common, and that’s November 4th.  Election Day!  It’s the day all of us grown ups make our way to the polls to vote to see which one of these egomaniacal low-lifes we want to make all of our big decisions for us.

Maybe I’m being a little hard on our politicians, but they really are easy targets aren’t they?  Still, ya gotta vote.  No excuses.  If you qualify to vote, ya gotta do it.  Only 42% of us voted in 2010, the last mid-term election.  I think we can do a bit better than that this time around.

If you’re looking for a way to introduce your children to the voting process, look no further than Bad Kitty for President. With our amazing activity kit, kids can write up debates, take fun quizzes, and even host their own election! Visit the Bad Kitty for President book page for the kit, video, downloadable buttons, and more.

And do you know what else happens on November 4th?  That’s right!  It’s KING TUT DAY, the anniversary of the discovery of King Tut’s tomb in 1922.  So in honor of the boy king, here’s the Bad Kitty Writing Assignment this month for anyone big or small, old or young who’s willing to take on the challenge…

Write a story about what it would be like if Kitty lived in Ancient Egypt.

Here are some questions you could ask yourself while writing your story…

Would Kitty be a pet to a pharoh?

Would Kitty like being around all that sand?

What would Kitty think of the Sphynx?

Answer these questions and/or some of your own and you could have a pretty good story by the time you’re done.

See you in December!

MEOW!
